In the words of New York Times critic Harold Schonberg, Sang Mi Chung has everything: technique, temperament, and real personality. These qualities shine through in her performances and penetrate the mysteries of idiom to an exceptional degree. According to piano authority David Dubal, “Sang Mi Chung does what so few accomplish: her Haydn is Haydn, Mendelssohn is Mendelssohn, and Chopin is Chopin. In short, she has a rare understanding of idiom and this artist also communicates.” Ms. Chung has performed extensively in the U.S., Europe, and Asia in such venues as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Aspen Music Festival. Cited by Musical America as one of the “Young Artists”, Ms. Chung has recorded exclusively for Centaur Records. She is a winner of the Gina Bachauer International Competition at Juilliard. Ms. Chung is a founding member of Arista Trio with whom she toured with great success. She is an avid chamber musician and teaches piano at Fordham University. She is a Steinway artist.
