Jordan Young is a saxophonist, composer, and arranger that has worked with Wallace Roney, Antoine Roney, Nia Love, Onaje Allen Gumbs, Lenny White, Craig Harris, Dick Griffin, Nasheet Waits, Darrell Green, DJ Logic, Ravi Coltrane, Sam Newsome, Melissa Aldana, James Brandon Lewis, and Damien Escobar amongst others. Notable performance venues include, Seattle Children’s Theatre, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Kennedy Center, Roulette, Bluenote, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. He has contributed music to Christina Kallas' award winning feature film "Paris is in Harlem" and scored numerous short films for filmmakers throughout the tri-state. He scored, sound designed and performed in BKBX Mime Theatre Company’s play for kids at the 14th street Y and Seattle Children Theatre. He has been the recipient of the NYFA Queens Artist Fund and the Looking Glass Residency. His band has performed at the Baby Grand Jazz festival and the Colored Colors Spring

My music is inspired by Jazz, blues, classical, contemporary improvisation,free jazz, hiphop, rnb, reggae, and folk. Influential artists include Duke Ellington, Ravel, Charlie Parker, Eddie Jefferson, Miles Davis, Joe Harriott, Childish Gambino, Busta Rhymes, The Last Poets, and Andre 3000, amongst others
