Reviewed by the New York Times as an “excellent performer," Ms. Vandiver's orchestral experience includes holding section positions with the Dallas Symphony, Houston Symphony and the Calgary Philharmonic and an Associate Principal position with the Fort Worth Symphony. For several summers she has been a member of the Sun Valley Music Festival. Additional ensemble experiences include touring and/or performing with the Baltimore Symphony, Sarasota Orchestra, the Grant Park Orchestra, the Boston Lyric Opera, Artsophere, and A Far Cry.

She is featured as a principal character in the cello documentary, Talent Has Hunger, and is a contributor to www.CelloBello.org. Ms. Vandiver completed her college studies at the New England Conservatory. In her free time she likes to braid and straighten her curly hair, design her own gowns, and explore San Francisco's restaurants with her partner Jesse Clevenger and their doggie, Olive. Music

Committed to the sustainability of her art form, Ms. Vandiver is a noted interpreter and advocate of new music. She was the principal cellist in the 21st Century Contemporary Ensemble, part of Carnegie Hall’s professional workshops. Ms. Vandiver draws inspiration from a variety of composters ranging from Bach to Ravel to Reich.
