FRESH PRODUCE—a play on the title of the first work, Orchard, by Tyler Kline—is an apt description of the works throughout the program: the most delicious, carefully cultivated, and harvested chamber works, written by creators who are amongst us and share our experiences, aged 45 and younger. The program features works that are rhythmically infectious, harmonically curious, electronically stimulating, playfully melodic, and vibrantly colorful, an exciting cornucopia of sonic experiences inspired by past, present, and future. In addition, much of the music explores the impact of the COVID19 pandemic on our artistic heritage, observing the growth, perspective, fortitude, personal reflection, and shared experience of this tumultuous period, a time marked by both adversity and discovery.
