Historical context
Latin America vibrates with an energy of its own that reflects the lively soul and the cultural mosaic it inhabits. In an engaging tribute to its rich musical heritage, the concert blends traditional rhythms with contemporary influences for an unforgettable auditory experience.
The program is a journey through the masterpieces of iconic composers like Argentine Jorge Morel, Paraguayan Agustín Barrios Mangoré, and Brazilian Paulo Bellinati, each of whom contributes his unique voice to the celebration of Latin musical heritage. The audience is fully immersed in the Latin American atmosphere with Morel’s Danza Brasilera, the vibrant melody of Cardoso’s Milonga, and Dyens’ passionate performance of Tango en Skai. Following this, Barrios Mangoré’s La Catedral evokes deep and spiritual emotions, characteristic of the religious and popular themes of Southern music.
Raised in the Latin neighborhood of Corona Queens, his musical education has always been surrounded by the warm sounds of the South. The final tiles of the Latin mosaic are a succession of captivating and passionate pieces, such as Mangoré’s Mazurka and Jobim’s Felicidade, which bring back the dance and the celebration of happiness.
