Host

A late‑afternoon garden concert that feels intimate, verdant, and quietly electrifying! At 5pm as the light softens across the leaves, three musicians—cello, violin, and piano—trace a journey through solitude, dialogue, and transcendence.

Bach’s Cello Suite No. 5 in C minor (BWV 1011) opens the program with a lone cello carving out shadow and depth. Kodály’s Duo for Violin and Cello, Op. 7 follows erupting into a fierce and playful conversation; folk‑inflected, virtuosic, and full of raw immediacy. The mood turns luminous with Bruch’s Kol Nidrei, where cello and piano weave a prayerful, expansive meditation on longing and release. The evening closes with Beethoven’s Archduke Trio, a work of generous lyricism and noble warmth, its broad horizons perfectly suited to a garden welcoming the evening.

Please feel free to bring your own beverages, children are welcome at this event. A quick heads up: there is an active beehive in the yard producing delicious local honey!
