Join us at OPERA America's National Opera Center on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 7:00 PM for an evening of Romantic and contemporary chamber music, featuring the New York premiere of Shai's piano trio 'Fortune Teller.' Program also includes works by Alkan, Bach, and more.
What's the music?
Program TBD but will include:
Ronen Shai: Piano Trio 'Fortune Teller' (New York premiere)
J.S. Bach: Unaccompanied Sonata No. 1 in g-, BWV 1001 - 1st mvt..
C. V. Alkan: Grand Duo Concertant, Op. 21 - 1st mvt.
Where does this music come from?
'Fortune Teller' was inspired by dreams and the unconscious mind. Although the piece is grounded in Romanticism, it engages multiple musical styles. These styles are reflected in the rest of the program which spans music from the Baroque, classical, and Romantic eras.
