The door will open at 6:15PM and the program of a bit over an hour will begin at 7PM. I’ll provide light appetizers and some wine, and feel free to bring a bottle of your choice too!

Where does this music come from?
Maurice Ravel’s piano works embody elegance, clarity, and shimmering color. Jeux d’eau (1901) evokes the play of water through luminous textures and impressionistic harmony, while the Sonatine (1903–05) offers a refined neoclassical grace across its three movements. Alborada del Gracioso (1904–05), from Miroirs, bursts with Spanish flair, rhythmic vitality, and dazzling virtuosity.
Frédéric Chopin’s Mazurkas, Op. 56 (1843) transform a Polish folk dance into intimate, poetic expressions, while his youthful Rondo à la Mazur, Op. 5 already hints at his signature lyricism. The program closes with Franz Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 12 (1847), a fiery display of dazzling bravura and folk-inspired spirit — a fitting finale to a journey through water, dance, and national identity.
