Host
I am thrilled to host Eliza Carrington, a genre bending classical guitarist with a passion for both classical and pop music. It will be a fun yet intimate evening both indoors and out just as the sun is setting at the beach. Non-alcoholic refreshments & nibbles will be served. Feel free to bring beer or wine and anything else.
Doors open at 8pm. Music will start around 8:30. There will be an intermission for mingling with friends, new and old.
About Eliza: "I’m a classical guitarist and singer-songwriter in LA. I fell in love with classical guitar when I was 11 years old, and when I was 18, I started studying classical guitar performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I always loved pop music, and while I was at school in San Francisco, I decided that I wanted to put the beauty of classical music and the fun of pop music together in my own original work.
I started working on my pop songs and used my classical guitar background to create fingerstyle-guitar songs, which I feature on my debut 5-song EP, Island of Mine."
What's the music?
Part I: Classical Guitar
Part I will cover classic pieces like Recuerdos de la Alhambra by Francisco Tárrega and Prelude 1 by Heitor Villa-Lobos, with some modern pieces like Parazula by Celso Machado and an original titled Guanacaste.
Part II: Original Work
Part II will showcase a series of original work for guitar and voice, with some modern pop and jazz renditions as well.
