This Sunday we'll be having a performance by Levitation Duo, playing a cabaret cocktail of french jazz manouche, mediterranean instrumental music, anarchist folk songs, and balkan / near eastern melodies.
This will be BYOB, and we'll pass around a hat to collect donations to the musicians (suggested donation $20)
You can come in through the front door using code 9607, and walk straight back to the living room!
What's the music?
Levitation Duo
Comprised of troubadours Oliver Levi on violin and William "Crescent" Brayton on classical guitar and oud, two cofounders of Levitation Quartet, this Duo brings a rhythmically charged vision of repertoire from Italy, Mexico, Argentina, Russia, Turkey and Greece. We will present original arrangements of beloved pieces, ranging in tone from wistful melancholy to playful mischief and ecstatic reverie. These, along with several original compositions, have been essential in creating an atmosphere of "levitation" in the various venues we have played over the last few years, including taverns, cafés, libraries, living rooms, patios, campground stages, ballrooms, and historic speakeasy venues. We hope you'll join us for a vibrant Sunday afternoon!
