Doors are at 5:00pm, with music to start at 5:30pm.
Please be prepared to remove your shoes upon entry.
I will provide snacks. Please feel free to bring a bottle or cans of something nice to share.
What's the music?
Hello! We are Mimi Berkova and Luis McDougal, a duo project which explores jazz repertoire along with music from the Caribbean, South America, and Eastern Europe with our sensuous touch. We also perform original music that is largely informed by these influences, and integrates them into the 21st century.
Where does this music come from?
We play music from the Great American Songbook, along with songs from Brazil, Argentina, and ancient songs from Bulgaria. Everything we do involves improvisation, a practice rooted in centuries of music-making and responsible for evolving the music itself.
