🎶 Catch the Exclusive Sound of Trio Fadolín – LAST MINUTE 40% Off Tickets Available Now! 🎶

Step into the future of chamber music with Trio Fadolín, a groundbreaking ensemble making its mark with an unparalleled sonority. This trio, a prestigious lineup of all Juilliard graduates is bringing a new voice to classical music, with the fadolín — a revolutionary new stringed instrument that contains the range of the violin, viola, and most of the cello.

In their debut season, Trio Fadolín has already graced the stages of prestigious venues like Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Now, they're offering a rare opportunity to experience their unique sound at a special discount for this upcoming concert!

Program Highlights:
✨ A work by Latvian composer Peteris Vasks, inspired by the mysticism of Teresa de Avila’s Castillo Interior.
✨ Works by Ukrainian composer Vasyl Barvinsky and by Uzbekistani composer Dmitry Yanov-Yanovsky.
✨ A truly innovative collaboration of tradition and modernity, with the fadolín taking center stage for the first time in an acoustic chamber setting.

All three musicians in Trio Fadolín grew up in the former Soviet Union and arrived in New York as teens. Sabina Torosjan (violin) was born in Estonia of Armenian-Jewish heritage; Valeriya Sholokhova (cello) was born in Ukraine of Ukrainian, Jewish, and Russian heritage; Ljova Zhurbin (Fadolín) was born in Moscow, Russia, with Ukrainian-Jewish, German-Jewish, Polish, and Romanian roots. Together, they share a common bond of immigration, Eastern European literature, humor, animation, and music. They are here to tell the complicated story, to share the experiences of immigrant composers, to collaborate with immigrant artists, and to showcase places where cultures intersect.

Where does this music come from?

Trio Fadolín's program for the Saint Andrew Music Society brings together rarely heard music from distant lands -- contemporary classical compositions from Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Latvia -- as well as several pieces composed in New York City. The concert will include what is likely to be the USA premiere of Pēteris Vasks's "Castillo Interior", written originally as a violin/cello duo and recently adapted for trio by the composer himself.

Ljova's "Central Asian Dances", employing Uzbek and Tajik folk melodies, bring the concert to a wild close.
