Please join us for an intimate house concert in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Santa Monica featuring violist Larry Joe Williams III accompanied by award winning composer and pianist Daniel Gledhill. Larry Joe will be performing music originally written for violin and voice and recreating these classical pieces with the unique sound of the viola. We look forward to having you join us as we come together as a community to immerse ourselves in the beauty of music as our region begins its recovery from the fires.
What's the music?

Mozart - Andante from Serenade No. 7, K. 250
Strauss - Three Lieder
• Morgen!
• Wiegenlied
• Zuiegnung
Intermission
Ravel - Pavane for a Dead Princess, arr. by Mario Sulaksana
Paganini - Cantabile
Saint Saëns - The Swan from The Carnival of the Animals
Schumann - Adagio and Allegro
As a violist in recital, I’m passionate about bringing forward repertoire that isn’t “traditional” for the instrument. Meaning that this program is made up of music that highlights a different soundscape. The colors and timbre of the viola has a unique “humanesque” quality that has all the capabilities of that of singer or violinist.
So you will hear pieces originally for piano, violin, and voice arranged for viola.
