We're partnering up for a three concert series with New Century Chamber Orchestra, and this is the first one!
American violinist Alexi Kenney leads the combined forces of New Century and SFCM in this unique multimedia program that immerses the audience on a journey from the Puerto Rican beaches of Angélica Negrón’s Marejada to the stark beauty of Joshua Tree National Park in Gabriella Smith’s Desert Ecology. A lush garden of sound blooms during the second half as our combined string ensemble performs Georges Enescu’s romantic masterwork, the Octet for Strings.
We've got these seats at a 50% discount for only $15 (and less for Supermusers). Purchase them in a three-concert bundle for even bigger discounts.
Children over age 6 are welcomed. Groupmuse ticket buyers are instructed to pick up their tickets at Will Call immediately before the performance.
What's the music?
Angélica Negrón: Marejada
Antonio Vivaldi: Violin Concerto in D Major, RV 228
Aaron Jay Kernis: Musica Celestis
Gabriella Smith: Selections from Desert Ecology
INTERMISSION
