About

I am passionate about chamber music and have devoted most of my career performing, teaching and creating concert opportunities for local musicians. I created a successful chamber music program at Ruth Asawa School of the Arts that over the years inspired and exposed many young musicians to the beauty and bliss of this genre. As Artistic Director and In its 25th year, the concert series Music On the Hill has presented Bay Area musicians and ensembles at the top of their careers and to up and coming young professionals. Throughout those years i have performed regularly with many of those gifted musicians in mixed chamber music ensembles.

Music

Starting with J.S. Bach, of course, a pianist must begin with the progenitor of where keyboard music originates. So playing his music always fills me with awe for its dual complexity and spiritual impact. Also am strongly attracted to composers that are influenced by folk and world music. Eastern European composers like Dvorak, Martinu, Prokofiev and Shostakovich. French composers with Cabaret/Jazz influence ie Poulenc & Milhaud and US composers that also bring Jazz harmonic and rhythmic language into their compositions ie Gershwin & Bernstein; Argentinian composer Piazzolla. Also a passion of mine is researching and discovering new and unusual works by living composers that few are aware of.
