I’m Laura Baron, a Wammie Award–winning (Washington Area Music Award) singer-songwriter based in the Washington, DC area. My music blends contemporary folk with jazz and world influences, creating intimate, listening-room performances that are both soulful and uplifting.
I love sharing songs that connect deeply. Sometimes playful and groove-based, sometimes reflective and always rooted in warmth, story, and presence. I perform solo on vocals and guitar, and also collaborate with wonderful musicians in trio and quartet settings.

Music

My music lives at the intersection of contemporary folk songwriting, jazz harmony, and acoustic storytelling. I perform original songs that blend lyrical depth with rhythmic groove. Sometimes intimate and reflective, and sometimes upbeat, swinging, and full of energy.

I also enjoy including select jazz standards in my sets, bringing in that classic sense of swing, playfulness, and musical spontaneity alongside my original work.

In a Groupmuse setting, I shape each concert to fit the room offering a mix of heartfelt listening moments and lively, groove-filled songs that bring a little sparkle and swing into the evening.
