Piano
About
I have played piano for over 50 years, have a master’s degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and was trained by Professor Yasuko Joichi, a renowned piano teacher at the Music Institute of Chicago.
I am a classically-trained collaborative pianist/accompanist and music director with extensive experience. I accompany instrumental and vocal Solo and Ensemble contests, competitions, recitals, and auditions. I have also accompanied ballet classes and weddings (piano/organ). I am a Music Director/Conductor for many musical theater productions (auditions, rehearsals, and in pit orchestras). I work with all instrument groups and with singers, at skill levels ranging from beginners up to professionals. In addition to filling the role of collaborative pianist/accompanist, I also coach those I work with, to achieve the highest quality of performance.
Music
I play all genres of music with a focus on classical, vocal, opera, baroque, early music, and musical theater. I have accompanied many students for solo/ensemble and concerto competitions. I have accompanied an advanced cello ensemble for many years and have been music director for many musicals (and keyboard in pit orchestras). I am a ballet accompanist for ballet classes and have taught piano for a number of students.
Most recently, I accompanied several professional opera singers - soprano and countertenor - as well as youth musical productions and a violinist who won a concerto competition.
