 ng will be rooted in the Carnatic music tradition of South India. The Veen
 a duet with Kapila and Krishna will feature various improvisational forms 
 (ragam\, thanam\, kalpana swaram\, etc.)\, and signature compositions in t
 he tradition. Percussive accompaniment by Arvind on mridangam\, a double-h
 eaded percussion instrument will also involve a solo (thani).\n\nGather at
  @5:00 PM to meet and greet the artists. Concert starts @5:30 PM. The sett
 ing is going to be casual with a mix of chairs\, floor seating and lawn se
 ating. You can also bring your dog as long as you can keep it under a leas
 h and not disturb the artist performance. Kids welcome if they are able to
  sit for the performance without disturbance to the artist.\n\nThis is a p
 otluck so feel free to bring a snack\, preferably ready to share and not r
 equiring any prep at the event. Chai and cookies will be served by the hos
 t.\n
